Summary/Abstract: The text focuses on the life and creative practices of one of the most authentic authors in the Republic of Macedonia ñ the eminent contemporary poet, fiction writer, playwright, essayist and translator - Bogomil Gjuzel. The ideological codes are quite indicative for this author and they may be reviewed on several levels: from his youthful rebellious modernism and the 'Epskoto na glasanje' / 'The Epic at the Polls' manifesto (with Radovan Pavlovski) first published in Polja (Novi Sad, 1960), and then in his native environment; through his 1970s liberalism, all the way to his experience with the state (institutionalized) awards and functions nowadays and in the past. The most authentic testimony is the 2006 autobiography published by the author, in which he recounts certain traumatic family experiences that had stigmatized him and his work - certain spiritual tattoos, as Peter Sloterdijk would say. Do politics reflect in one`s output and how much? As the case of Gjuzel, as well as of numerous authors throughout the history of literature, has shown, the output, if it is true, authentic and aesthetically worthy, always manages to defy all Scillas and Haribdas and survive in these tumultuous Balkan (European and world) contemporary times of ours in which the possibilities of spiritual opportunities of man unfortunately seem increasingly fewer.
