Summary/Abstract: Philosophical reflection on four salient empirical features of the unacceptable and paradoxical situation of utterly destitute street children barely surviving in the midst of the unprecedented wealth of such European capital cities as Paris and Prague discloses four related aspects of an urgently needed rearticulation of the concept of social justice. Those features are “moments of mutuality,” four cardinal elements of a non-reciprocal, asymmetric relation of mutuality understood in terms of mutualizing fairness, understanding, respect, and articulacy.
