Summary/Abstract: The aim of the theoretical and empirical article is to present the needs and difficulties experienced by the surveyed persons with visual impairment involved in the activities of religious communities. Particular attention has been paid to ‘me’ and ‘you’ focused needs, as well as external and internal constraints. The article presents the results of research conducted on the basis of a qualitative strategy, the method of individual cases and the use of the in-depth interview technique. The group of respondents included 10 people struggling with sight dysfunctions who belong to or belonged to religious communities in the past. The article considered, inter alia, how being a member of a specific religious group made it possible to meet the needs of the respondents, and what limitations they had to deal with as a result.
