Summary/Abstract: The right to life is the fundamental value of the human person. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights provides that “everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person,” while the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights states that “every human being has the inherent right to life.” Starting from the provisions of these two international instruments, we can emphasize that the promotion and observance of fundamental human rights and freedoms is a guarantee of respect for individual and social morality.
