Summary/Abstract: In October 2021, Alfred Duff Cooper (1890–1954), a British minister who did not approve of the policy of concessions to Nazi Germany, was awarded the Order of the White Lion, Civil Class I., by President Miloš Zeman. “I have ruined, perhaps, my political career. But that is a little matter;” said Cooper in his resignation speech. “I have retained something which is to me of great value – I can still walk about the world with my head erect.”
