Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the destiny of noun inflection in Prizren-South Morava vernaculars in Kosovo and Metohija. There are two distinct dialect areas in the analyzed region. A special area of Prizren-South Morava vernaculars was formed in the Metohija and Kosovo basins, and in Sirinićka Župa. East of this area the Kosovo-Pomoravlje vernaculars are spoken. The most important difference between these two areas is in the domain of noun inflection. While analytism absolutely dominates in the inflection of nouns in the Kosovo-Pomoravlje vernaculars, the inflection of nouns of the Metohija-Kosovo-Sirinić area is only partly replaced by analytism.
