Summary/Abstract: Biblia always represented some kind of a reference point in human civilisation and its publication marked a major impact in cultural life. One of these moments is represented by the publication of Petru Pavel Aron’ s Biblia, as a proof of his attachment for both Catholic and Ortodox faith. In spite of Romanians preference for Eastern Church’ s Septuaginta, Aron chosen the Occidental Vulgata, maybe because he considered the first one as being enough known and spread in Romanian communities. In this respect, he offered the unique translation of Vulgata in Romanian culture. Aron’ s Biblia is in fact a collective work and among contributors we may mention G. Maior, G. Cotorea, A. Rednic, S. Caliani. They all succeeded in finding the golden mean of translating the text from Latin into Romanian language, too poor in expresions and nuances. Unfortunately, the work has never been published because of Aron’ s sudden death. It remained as a manuscript, impoverishing Romanian culture with an unpardonable deficiency.
