Summary/Abstract: Parweniusz z rodowodem [A Parvenu with a Pedigree] is a biography of Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz, the most popular Polish writer of the interwar period. Jarosław Górski deals with the black legend of the writer, rumours and sensational hearsay about his life, which has been spread for years and which, as the biographer proves, has not been confirmed by facts. Górski carries out a thorough verification of vast source material and shows the writer’s figure in a new, surprising way. His study provides a fresh insight not only into Mostowicz’s life, but also into his art.
