Summary/Abstract: Aim: Analyze the preparation of the student for clinical practice in demonstration conditions and the difficulty of nursing care to a child patient from the perspective of students. Methods: The research was conducted in 89 students. The studentˈs preparation at the theoretical and practical level (range 1-6, 1=best, 6=insufficient), and the difficulty of providing nursing care form the studentˈs point of view (range: 0-10, 0=none, 10=extreme) were assessed by the items of own construction. Results: The average level of preparation of a student for clinical practice was 2.87 (SD – 0.88) and the average level of difficulty of providing nursing care to a pediatric patient was 4.89 (SD – 1.67). We demonstrated a significant association between the preparation of a student for clinical teaching and the perception of the difficulty of providing nursing care (r: 0.462). Conclusions: Given that the level of pre-clinical training of students has a significant impact on the perception of the difficulty of providing care for sick children, it is important that educational institutions modify procedures and methods of educating students in demonstration conditions with a focus on educating nursing procedures in children.
