The Importance of a Social Worker in a Medical Facility

Summary/Abstract: Social work currently has a permanent place in various fields. In the field of healthcare, its role is also very important. In our contribution, we point out the importance of a social worker who works in hospitals. We found that the rate of provision of social care by medical staff is higher in a hospital where there is no social worker. This role should be performed by a professional who then has the qualifications. If these activities are performed by health professionals, it significantly affects the scope of their work, time, knowledge and the quality of health and social care provided.
