Aurel Filimon and the Modern Archaeology in Mureş County

Summary/Abstract: The paper has as the aim to underline some aspects concerning the activity of Aurel Filimon, whose name is connected with two major archaeological objectives: the bronze deposit from Suseni, where he described artefacts, insisting on each object, and the Roman settlement from Cristeşti, where he personally took part at the excavations, revealing the furnances and later he described the types of ceramics found here. Through his researche, inventories and long term results, Filimon proved to be one of the „pioneers” of modern archaeology in Mureş County.
