Summary/Abstract: The paper sums up the results of piloting a tailor-made Critical Media Literacy (CML) course developed under Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module “European Media Standards and Values for Independent Journalism in the PostTruth Era” and taught to a group of 20 students enrolled for Journalism training program at Zaporizhzhia National University (Ukraine) in 2020-2021 academic year. With low CML level still a challenge for young democracies like Ukraine, the relevance of this study is further determined by an urgent demand for raising Journalism training programs quality. Grasping a scope of topics from fact-checking techniques to conflictsensitive writing, the course combined innovative methodologies (peer-to-peer learning, project-based learning, learning-by-doing) with flexible, cross-discursive module structure thus enabling a multi-focal approach to the topic and ensuring a more comprehensive, holistic vision of CML not only as a set of skills but as a valuecharged practice deeply incorporated into journalism ethics and standards.
