Summary/Abstract: This paper is a short critical essay on the issue of legal aid in Czech law. The Czech lawmakers, as well as legal practitioners, do not give enough attention to this issue which leads to deprivation of justice and discrimination of persons who need legal aid and at the same time, they cannot afford it. Atticus Finch, the main character of the book and the movie called “To Kill a Mockingbird”, is therefore mentioned as an example of how an attorney ought to practice law even from the professional ethics’ point of view.
