Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims to identify and analyze the common influences in the works of the two great Romantic composers – Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849) and Edvard Grieg (1843-1907). The juxtaposition of the two composers reveals the parallelism of their musical trajectory and points out the folkloric musical elements, specific to the natal birthplace that they managed to integrate not only in the history of the European arts and music but also in the history of universal music. This article will underline similarities of style in the works of the two composers, as the dominance of the minor, short forms with repetitions, harmonic aspects, and folkloric influences.
