Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses how China’s economic strategy may affect economic cooperation between the European Union and other European countries. The author suggests that China is a factor that unites Europe as a continent, which is one of the greatest paradoxes of our time. Deng Xiaoping rejected ideological taboos, and optioned for two important principles — “one country, two systems”, and “open door policy” — paving the way to develop economic ties with whole world. Europe returned to its traditional division, with Western and Eastern parts wage new geopolitical cold war by imposing mutual economic sanction. This is a reason why the whole Europe is increasingly interested in developing economic relations with China. China as a major economic power in rapid rise needs powerful partners, and therefore has been highly interested in boosting economic ties with both parts Europe. The author argues that the Chinese program of infrastructural building in the Central Eastern Europe is paving the way not only to foster China’s ties with 16 countries of the region, but also between 16 countries themselves. The author concludes that the advice to learn from foreigners given to the Chinese by great Chinese economist Wei Yuan can now be altered into advice to foreigners to start learning from China.
