Summary/Abstract: Cluj was an important cultural center and the Romanian press in Cluj played a crucial role in the effort of highlighting the affirmation of the national spirit. The interwar period in Cluj was a stage of profound socio-economic, political and cultural transformations, notable for a strong effervescence of cultural and scientific life and the press of the time amply demonstrates this fact. Cultural magazines from Cluj, "Behind the Scenes", "Culture", "Society of Tomorrow", "Theater", drew currents of ideas in the interwar period in Cluj and Romanian culture. The press has done its best to cultivate the population through a sustained campaign to promote values in all areas. Theatrical events reached the audience more easily thanks to the press and brought in front of the reader many prominent personalities of the stage, educated the audience and formed an artistic taste.
