Summary/Abstract: The article explores the effect of centralization-concentration, lever of territorial governance, on the competitiveness of the industrial fabric of the region of Sfax. The objective of this communication is to present a reflection on the relevance of the concept of the decentralized territory in an analysis of competitiveness. The empirical analysis, which was carried out using data from a survey of a sample of companies in the Sfax region, adopted principal component analysis and Tobit models to meet our objective. The results found showed that administrative centralization is a handicap affecting the performance of companies and strengthening their competitiveness.
