HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL ASPECTS OF MACEDONIAN EMANCIPATION ON THE BALKANS

Summary/Abstract: The basic conclusion of the present report is that the struggle for Macedonian emancipation covers almost the whole Macedonian history and it is not yet ended. The factors for its continuity are: the specificity of the Balkans on the territory of which majority of etnoses have settled; the Macedonian cosmopolitism; the thin interface between the cosmopolitism and the nihilism; the opposition of the Macedonian neighbours. Main problem of the Macedonian emancipation is the fact that it ran in all possible directions: ethnic, political, lingual, cultural etc, but not at the same time.
