THE NOVELS OF DRAGI MIHAJLOVSKI

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the existence of this cultural and comparative analysis of the novels of Mihajlovski is versatile: from one hand, wants to contribute in the process of understanding of semantic and symbolical levels rooted in their structure, to get one engaged rethinking of contemporary issues, such as identity, cultural identity, religious and socio-cultural code of the Macedonians, Otherness and the image of the Other, the stereotypical perception of reality… The discerning of the position from which „act“ these novels is very interestingly: the stories are located in a diachronic way, but yet discuss contemporary issues - thus alluding to the durability of these phenomena faced in front of the Macedonians... The sequel of this analysis leads to the discovery of the ratio of these novels to historical patterns, by creating a thesis for pseudo-historical ratio for themes, supplemented or completed by the literary word as „spice“ or part of the mosaic they want to create.
