Summary/Abstract: The following essay explores the possibility of philosophy after its acclaimed “end” was already declared by various 20th century thinkers. I argue that in the contemporary situation professional philosophy has become inert towards the questions regarding its own autonomy and meaningfulness thus becoming absorbed in a mere intellectual game. By giving examples from my practice as a philosophy teacher I show that there are other meaningful ways to make philosophy important. I point out by an analysis of meaning how the practice of philosophy itself could be open to different interpretations enabling its function as critique of power and authority. Consequently I claim that the possibility for philosophy today should be sought in its anarchistic nature and subversive potentialities.
