MONEY-LANDING ACTIVITY OF THE TUMANISHVILIS IN 60S YEARS OF XVII CENTURY AND 30S YEARS OF XIX CENTURY

Summary/Abstract: In result of the collapse the royal of Georgia in the II half of XV, among the feudal lords formed in Kartli, from economic point of view the the noble of Tumanishvilis was one of the strong, what was partially determined by trade-usury business of them. Usuries Tumanishvilis were so famous in Georgia, that their borrowers were from various parts and social status of the country, including royal family members. In the present article, based on the obvious documental sources ad scientific literature, we have attempted to study the money-lender business of Tumanishvilis noble house members in 60s years of XVII century, and 30-years of XIX century by the various directions. There is analyzed in this article: Tumanishvilis, as strength of the usurers, their contribution in the feudal epoch of Georgia as well by the direction of the monetary-credit relations development, the reasons of the frequent addressing of the borrowers; their business features in the credit sphere. In the thesis there is clarified the identity of Tumanishvilis involved in usury and their borrowers social circle.
