Summary/Abstract: Names of dishes occur frequently as loanwords/borrowings on territories where various languages co-occur. Some of those are of a wider range, other are confi ned to a small territory. The article presents an interpretation of a potential borrowing of an East-Slavic word „drahle” („dryhle”) ‘aspic’, which is characteristic to the Polish-Slavic frontier and takes a considerable area in the borderline dialects. The occurrence of this name in the central part of Poland makes it impossible to indicate the source of borrowing unambiguously.
