Summary/Abstract: NATO has to adapt itself in order to meet the present and future security challenges. New threats are emerging from different sources: traditional opponents, new state actors, non-state entities to terrorists, social security failures, hybrid aggressions and cyberattacks. As a result, the Alliance has to prepare in conceptual, political and military terms to contribute to the security of its member states by developing a proper posture against The East and making southern neighborhoods more stable.
