Summary/Abstract: Presented article with machining (specifically drilling technology) of composite materials is based on Wood-Plastic Composite, in short WPC (as a minimum substitute for wood in interior / exterior applications). Experiment is focusing on selected technological parameters of machining (spindle speed and tool feed rate) on the characteristics of created surface. Surface cut zone quality – surface topography is examined by contact profilometry (as commonly available methods) and optical methods. The results of the experiments point to the disadvantages of these composite materials and the basic aspects influencing the quality of surfaces after machining is the inhomogeneity of the material.
