Summary/Abstract: Did the vessel used during the symposia have only a technical function that facilitated drinking the previously prepared drink (mixed wine and water)? What was the meaning of its decoration – the theme visible in the tondo at the bottom when tilting the cup? What are the connections of iconographic themes with the moment of understanding the sense and symbolism of the image? The article concerns an iconographic and semantic analysis of the scenes watched by a wine drinker. All discussed black- and red-figure cups belongs to the Princes Czartoryski Museum in Krakow.
