Return to Bagheria, namely Story of a Failed Reconciliation

Summary/Abstract: Considering the fact that the literature on women’s autobiography is not yet sufficiently discussed by Polish and foreign critics, the presented article attempts to analyze the autobiographical novel Bagheria of Dacia Maraini. The main purpose of the analysis was to identify and determine the determinants and narrative processes used by the writer, which in the novel bring back memories of her childhood and early youth, and thus, answer the question about the source of human memories.
