Summary/Abstract: The following paper describes various concepts about databases, in relationships to the field of specialized translations, where it is essential to store in an organized manner all the information on technical-scientific terminology. A database system is an integrated collection of related files, along with details of the interpretation of the data contained therein. Basically, the overall purpose of a database system is to record and maintain information/data, and this main function is of great use for a linguistic discipline like Terminology, included in the curriculum of many study programs of Translation and Interpretation. Therefore, the aim of this article is to provide a thorough analysis of the subject of Terminological Databases, seen as a complement to Terminology in the curriculum of the Specialization of Translation and Interpretation at UTCB, with an essential role in training future specialized translators, interpreters and terminologists.
