Summary/Abstract: The Churches' financial and fiscal regime recognized by the Romanian state has been the subject of numerous fake news, especially in the last two decades, from both NGOs and various associations with a secular agenda, but also from a part of the Romanian administrative and political elite. This regime is the result of a particular Romanian historical development, of the way in which the Romanian state and nation were built in regard to the Church, being specific to the way in which the Romanian state recognizes the current and historical contribution of the religious organizations to the construction of the common good, but nonetheless congruent with other European Churches' financial and fiscal regimes.
