Summary/Abstract: The strategy of learning / teaching in elementary grades significantly pave the way for further education of the individual. The paper presents the strategy of active learning / teaching in the first grade of primary education Montenegrin. The survey focus many questions active participation of students in everyday school situations, which we considered complex, important segment, but also the complex dimensions of the educational concept aimed at students. Affirming the active / participating approach to work, we further examined by analyzing certain aspects of the learning / teaching students in the overall interaction of the teaching process in the school community. What is the strategy of active learning / teaching based? Do they include permanent organized work and learning in a highly structured circumstances, control and monitoring? An active learning / teaching, understood as a complex individual comprehensive involvement in the whole process of learning, work, life in classroom community and the school in general, occurs dominantly through the game as the most natural and the most spontaneous children’s activities. The aim of the research is to determine the extent to which teachers and educators create an atmosphere, which is a function of students’ needs, their active learning and to identify the presence of strategies of learning / teaching in the direct teaching practice in the first grade of primary school in Montenegro. The study applied the methods of observation and evaluation of teaching practice. Research findings show that teachers and educators use different methodological strategies of active learning / teaching in work activities are organized throughout the game, leaving enough space for the students to ask questions, explore, solve problems and apply their knowledge in new situations.
