Summary/Abstract: In the current context, performance sports are evolving more and more rapidly, with the advent of physical effort monitoring equipment and software. The control and monitoring of the effort as accurately as possible requires a close management in order to ensure the achievement of the objectives and implicitly the achievement of high level performances. Therefore, the current trend in physical training and not only, is to use minimalist, ultraportable devices and software that provide us with real-time information to be able to intervene in a timely manner. The Catapul GPS system is one of the most complex systems in the world, for monitoring sports activity both outdoors and indoors. This paper aims to highlight the advantages of using this system in sports activities by providing real-time data such as DIST - Total Distance, D/MIN - Distance Per Min, MAX SPD - Max Speed, DIST Z5 - Distance Z5, DIST Z6 - Distance Z6, HSR - High Speed Running, HSR/MIN -High Speed Running per Min, HMLD - High Metabolic Load Distance, HMLD/MIN - High Metabolic Load per Min, NO. OF SPR - Number of Sprints, SPR DIST - Sprint Distance, SI - Speed Intensity, ACC - Accelerations, DEC - Decelerations, AMP - Average Metabolic Power,EMD - Equivalent Metabolic Distance, MAX HR - Max Heart Rate, HR EXERTION - Heart Rate Exertion, AVG HR - Average HR, TRZ - Time In Red Zone, IMP - Impacts, DSL - Dynamic Stress Load, Z5 ENT - Z5 Entry, Z6 ENT - Z6 Entry, FI - Fatigue Index, SB L/R - Step Balance Left/Right. In this research we focused on a study in which we monitored the parameters specified above in the context of a test of aerobic endurance - the bronco protocol for a timely and objective assessment of rugby players.
