Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to focus on the poetic function of the topographical landscape based on recollection of memories. In exile, the character-narrator Jimmy Sarano tries, through a specific narrative technique, to reveal feelings and sensations deep in his memory. Spatiality, characterised by a more or less specific imprint, keeps the reader in a warp of thoughts and memories difficult to understand. Therefore, our study represents an in-depth analysis of the spatial representation of topography linked to the existential representation the characters.
