Summary/Abstract: The transition from 14th to 15th century in history of the medieval Bosnian kingdom was marked by the weakening of the king's general influence and, simultaneously, strengthening of the political power of Bosnian nobility. One of the families whose impact grew drastically at that time were the Zlatonosovic from Usora. The paper covers a thirty-year period of their active participation in everyday political life of the Bosnian kingdom. In addition to the basic data about this family, such as their origins, first appearance on the political scene, historicalgeographical determinants, genealogies and marital ties, which are presented in the first part of the paper, the second part compares the two most prominent Zlatonosovic family members: brothers Vukasin and Vukmir. Both of them, each in their own way, were active participants in important political and social events from the first three decades of the 15th century, and it is exactly the difference in their political approach that helps explain the rapid rise and even faster disappearance of the Zlatonosovic family from the political scene of medieval Bosnia and the region. Their example can also serve as an source for understanding the complex relationship between the Bosnian nobility and the king, founded on the institutions of faithful service and the men’s loyalty.
