Summary/Abstract: The role of a peer mediator is emotionally and intellectually demanding for learners to undertake. Therefore, it seems necessary to diagnose children and adolescents in terms of their mediation predispositions. Using a proprietary tool, the authors distinguished five basic categories of predisposition to diagnose primary school students aged 11–13. The diagnosis of such predispositions serves primarily to determine the direction of work with youth candidates for the role of mediators and is the starting point for developing their mediation competences. Moreover, the collected results show strengths and deficits in developmental and cognitive areas important in the context of mediation. The data analysis also showed a possible relationship between the effects of the pandemic and a decrease in the level of mediation predispositions, mainly social and emotional skills, which require the training of the abilities that would enable effective interpersonal relationships to be advanced.
