The place of Chapter 31 in the negotiations on the accession of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union

Summary/Abstract: The process of European integration of the Republic of Serbia is strongly determined by the process of harmonization of Serbia's foreign policy with the EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy. The structure of this process is marked by instability, caused by the changes in European and world politics, which is additionally characterized by interdependence and globalization. This paper deals with main challenges regarding Chapter 31 and its impact on the whole process of European integration of the Republic of Serbia. Furthermore, the paper analyzes the harmonization of Serbia with EU's foreign policy declarations and actions, over the past few years and possible obstacles for Serbia’s foreign policy priorities in terms of EU's conditions, as well.
