Colour in Science. The New Research Perspectives in Linguistics

Summary/Abstract: The paper shows the multidisciplinary and global colour aspects in a complex and integrated research environment. Dualistic concept in colour science draw attention to the humanistic and social perspective of the colour sign. The linguistic sign accompanies the rich tradition of linguistics research. The visuality of colour sign opens up transdisciplinary research areas in contemporary linguistics. A new category of research focuses on the paralinguistic colour aspects in the media discourse. The communicative media dimension makes such concepts as visual content, visual language and visual identity the subject of interest. Reconfiguration of research fields means that it is time for a colour turn after the linguistic and iconic/pictorial turns.
