Summary/Abstract: The article reflects the first step in investigating the perception that economic sanctions seriously damage a country’s economic potential and results. Upon testing several hypothesis the basic – the effect of sanctions is widely exaggerated and overestimated; and additional assumption – the countries that are under economic sanctions respond with industry growth) it has been revealed that at least in several randomly selected cases economic sanctions don’t cause severe negative consequences.
