The paper aims to present in a world of technology and social networks the benefits brought by various IT solutions designed to help companies to collect, develop, classify ideas and create new ways of transmitting and developing ideas to customers and third interested parties. Also, within the paper are aspects related to the efforts of the company in the financial and organizational plan in order to effectively use such a tool. Ideas management software has elements in common with other types of software, such as knowledge management software, even the project planning software and the project management software. Most idea management systems suitable for the SMEs' use are cloud-based. It is the best option for most of the SMEs, except for those with very specific IT integration requirements.
