Summary/Abstract: The extreme right political forces, which had escaped to Western Europe after World War II, reorganised themselves some years later as a movement. They constantly prepared for the comeback, to win back political authority in Hungary. The perfect opportunity seemed to have come with the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. They let the occasion slip, however, without any effective intervention in the course of events. Thereafter, they merely focussed on influencing those who had fled from Hungary, and on propagating the ideology.
