Summary/Abstract: Jerusalem was the capital of Israel and the Holly City of the Jewish people. The city which was conquered by David had many leaders throughout time. Jerusalem will become the Holy City of Christianity. The Byzantine sovereigns (324-638) built lots of places of worship in the Holy Citadel. Constantine the Great will decide to re-forge the city and create “The New Jerusalem, built over the famous and ancient one”. He founded a church in Jerusalem, sealing the city as the cradle of Christianity. His mother Elena is considered as “the lucky and miraculous archeologist” of Jerusalem. She was the one that changed the city forever through the great ecclesiastic buildings raised there.
