Summary/Abstract: J. Jaroen is a street artist. He is interested in conceptual art. The Street Art trend started in 1998. Currently, the trend is on decline in many big cities in the world. In Warsaw, there was a Street Art Jam Festival. Journalists write about street artists, there is an internet service, which is available to street artists. Jaroen exhibits in street and in galleries. He tells the stories on art, and contemporary social issues. In his work entitled ‘Vanitas’ (Florence 2004), he used the names of deceases and different kinds of medicine. In his ‘Private Parking – Art After Rothko’ (Amsterdam 2004), he asked what was the best localization for work of art. He reminds us of the fact, that cities belong to their dwellers. In his project entitled ‘The Art of Urban Warfare’ (Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, Manchester 2003), he referred to the problem of global wars.
