Summary/Abstract: This paper describes the methods used to further enhance our educational efforts by implementing a student-centred website for our department. The main objective of the work is to describe the process and survey carried in order to achieve a good web presence. Our structured survey questionnaire helped us prove our hypothesis. The survey hypothesis was that well-formatted and mobile friendly websites encourage students to do better research, to check web pages more often and share information more. Our survey objective is to prove that multi-device accessibility to websites aids students in their research. Another goal is to find if students check the site more often if it’s responsive. The third research point underlines if students tend to share the information more if it’s on a well-formatted and mobile-friendly website. The targeted survey population are students enrolled in engineering degrees enrolled in their first year undergraduate. The survey demographics include young adults in their twenties located in South-East Europe from Romania. Our results show that an increasing number of students are looking for information on their university website and efforts need to be made to provide availability and screen-friendly web-applications. Our research also shows an important increase in screen time versus indoor library reading time among our students. The survey questionnaire is structured so that we can better understand our students' needs when they log on to our web application. This work was looking for student feedback in order to modify the parts of the websites to suit our students' needs.
