Summary/Abstract: In the Spanish language, graphic adaptations emerge to replace pure foreign words. However, there are cases in which both graphic adaptations and pure foreignness alternate in usage. Also, within the group of pure foreign words are pure anglicisms, which have their respective graphic adaptations or adapted anglicisms. Many of these -adapted and pure voices-, are also included in the 23rd Spanish Language Dictionary (DLE, 20142019). Therefore, the objective of this work is to determine the preference of the speakers either for the pure anglicisms or for the graphic adaptations, which is included in the Academic Dictionary, as well as the Spanish-speaking environment in which their usage prevails. For this reason, consultations have been made with the voices that have these two variants in the Twenty First Century Spanish Corpus (CORPES XXI). The findings confirmed the preference of speakers for the pure anglicisms and their predominance usage in America.
