TRANSFIGURATIVE TRAVELLING - ON THE TRAVELLING AND THE CEMETERIES

Summary/Abstract: This text is based on the premise that travelling happens on the cemeteries. The travelling in base can be real or imaginary, but on places like cemeteries it is confusing. The real travelling movement is in crisis and the imaginary one produces images, fragments of stories and evokes different personal experiences. The cemeteries compared to TERRA INCOGNITA always had big influence on the human imagination. Creation of cemeteries in the same time is creation of culture or shaping a cultural life. These are places that have been changing during time according to different believes, into afterlife. Building graves, epitaphs, objects for rituals, drawings, etc. In different times, different cultures have been creating different imaginary traveling inspired by the imagined afterlife that helped in the development of the cultural identity and its continuity.
