Summary/Abstract: “La sat” for clarinet and piano is a mature work of composer Vasile Ijac and dates from 1950. The score, existing only in manuscript in the archives of the Banat Museum in Timisoara, has the composer’s note with the approval of the work by the Union of Composers’ Commission Timişoara Branch, of 22 VI 1950, by Conf. M. Mihăescu. The first audition took place in 2004 in the Orpheum Hall of the Faculty of Music and Th eater in Timişoara. The work “La sat” for clarinet and piano inspired by traditional Banat music. The suggestive allusion is rendered both by the title of the work and by the diagrams of their architectural structures, which fall into the free-form instrumental suites specific to the Banat area, characterized by the alternation of the slow parts with the fast ones.
