Summary/Abstract: In the following study, the author analyses the headlines of Új Szó, the only Hungarian daily newspaper in Slovakia, to find out to what extent and in what way the topic of Coronavirus was presented to the readers in the headlines of the leading articles in the year of 2020. The study introduces theoretical background on the topic, and through discussion-analysis and specific examples, provides an insight into the headlinewriting habits of the nearly 75-year-old daily newspaper. The research focuses on the most attractive headlines on the front pages of the newspapers; their stylistic, linguistic, and paralinguistic features. The use of a variety of headline structures is also demonstrated through certain examples. Moreover, the study contains quantity and quality analyses, and as an interesting feature, provides alternatives for more creativeheadlines.
