Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the medialized and cinematographic storytelling techniques in David Foster Wallace´s Infinite Jest. The study focuses on the special language of the novel, the textual transpositions of acoustic and visual elements, different tools affecting narration, and the body as the dilemma of the medium. The analysis points out that the characters of the novel become determinative through different devices of mediation: cameras, projection screens, film cartridges, paratextual and metatextual elements, etc. It also highlights the meticulousness, thoroughness, and visuality of narrations. Thanks to Wallace´s prominent technical solutions, the text is constantly in touch with other media, and it creates their copies (reproductions, duplications) in its syntax, many times imperceptibly so that it becomes inseparable from the narration of the novel.
