Summary/Abstract: The Nazi resistance is one of the most glorious chapters in Czechoslovakia’s 20th-century history. An unquestionably important role in it was played by young Christians, who, inspired by the ethos of the founder of the so-called First Czechoslovak Republic, T.G. Masaryk, did not hesitate to sacrifice their lives in the struggle against Nazism. Among them was the secretary of the Academic YMCA, Jaroslav Valenta, whose life story came to a heroic end during the fatal days of the Heydrich era of repression.
