Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the issue of representation and application of certain forms of teaching in preparing students for the implementation of Islamic religious education. Forms of teaching are the basic didactic - methodological determinant of the organization of the Islamic religious education class. The research is of a longitudinal character. The research lasted 5 years during the implementation of pedagogical and methodological practice of students in primary and secondary school. The analytical - descriptive method and the method of content analysis were used in the paper, as well as the protocol for recording and observation of the Islamic religious education class. The results of the research showed that in addition to the dominant choice of the frontal form of teaching in the teaching of Islamic religious education, students also use the group form of teaching in the preparation of didactic and methodological organization of teaching Islamic religious education. To improve the quality of teaching Islamic religious education, it is necessary to provide continuous support through the development of pedagogical and didactic - methodological competencies of religious teachers, and to encourage more interactive and creative learning methods in Islamic religious education students during higher education.
