Summary/Abstract: The meaning of existence is a problem of philosophy, par excellence. The current research work aims at analyzing Eminescu's attempt to transpose this issue to the level of the Romanian state. In his political work, the Romanian thinker presents our mission as a state, from a historical perspective, but at the same time, he invites us to self-knowledge, urging us to remember who we are, why we are here, on this earth, and what our mission is. We envisage, by analysizing some lesser-known texts, to bring into present aspects of Eminescu's political thought that could be meaningful for the reality we live today, representing authentic warnings over time.
