Summary/Abstract: Expected to take place on September 9, 1968, the 14th Extraordinary Congress of the Czechoslovak Communist Party was postponed to August 22, 1968, as a result of the invasion of the country by the troops of the Warsaw Pact (except for Romania).On August 25, 1968, the leadership of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union canceled the Czechoslovak Communist Party’s Congress, the delegation headed by Alexandr Dubček being forced to sign an agreement consenting the state of affairs.The invasion of the Czechoslovakia and the cancellation of the congress led to the end of the “Prague Spring” and revisionism.
